Today's Biggest Story

What's happening: Schools across the US and UK deployed AI detectors like Turnitin to catch students cheating with ChatGPT and Claude. The plan made sense on paper. In practice, it created something nobody intended — students who write perfectly fine on their own are now deliberately making their writing worse to avoid getting flagged.
The Cobra Effect in action: In colonial India, the British government offered a bounty for dead cobras to reduce the population. People started breeding cobras to collect the bounty. When the program ended, the breeders released the worthless snakes — making the problem worse than before.
The numbers are damning: Turnitin claims 98% accuracy. But a writing instructor at a large public university recently received a student essay that was clearly original, carefully argued, and well-researched — and watched Turnitin flag it at 87% AI probability. The institution's policy required an automatic referral to the academic integrity office.
Bottom line : A growing number of universities — including Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt — have stopped using AI detection scores as standalone evidence. Instead, they're requiring students to submit drafts, outlines, and revision histories. Some are moving to oral defenses and in-class writing. The logic: design assignments that are harder to outsource, not systems that punish students for writing clearly..

🔧 Monday Skill — Tool: Claude Code
You're still coding alone. Claude Code changes that.
Most developers treat AI as a fancy autocomplete — paste a problem in, copy an answer out, repeat. That's not how Claude Code works. It doesn't just answer questions about your code. It reads your entire codebase, understands the architecture, and acts like a senior engineer who has already reviewed every file you've ever written.
The real power is in agentic workflows: give it a task, go make coffee, come back to a pull-request-ready diff. It's not generating code snippets anymore — it's doing the actual work. That's why it became the #1 coding tool among developers in under 8 months.
Try this in Claude Code today →
"Review this entire repo, identify the 3 biggest performance bottlenecks, explain why each one is a problem, and suggest a fix for each with example code."
It will read your code, think across files, and come back with a senior engineer's code review — in under 60 seconds. The Future of AI in Marketing. Your Shortcut to Smarter, Faster Marketing.
