China's AI Labs Stole From Claude — And Anthropic Has the Receipts

Three of China's biggest AI companies — DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax — didn't just compete with Anthropic. According to Anthropic, they cheated.

In a bombshell blog post, Anthropic revealed it caught all three labs running what it calls "industrial-scale distillation attacks" — quietly training their own AI models using Claude's responses.

The kicker? When accounts got banned, new ones immediately replaced them. One proxy network managed more than 20,000 fraudulent accounts simultaneously, mixing distillation traffic with normal customer requests to avoid detection. The Hacker News

The geopolitical timing is loaded. This story is landing while Washington is actively debating tighter AI chip export controls on China — and Anthropic is using this moment to make the loudest possible case for why those restrictions need to be stronger, faster.

• 💰OpenAI's $110B raise: Amazon $50B, SoftBank $30B, NVIDIA $30B

  New details confirm the breakdown of OpenAI's record funding round. Amazon went in deepest at $50B, aligned with its AWS infrastructure ambitions. NVIDIA's $30B bet ensures OpenAI is first in line for Vera Rubin chips. At $730B valuation, OpenAI is now worth more than most Fortune 100 companies — and has both the Pentagon deal and the political goodwill to match.

• 🛡️Defence AI ETF up 14% — Palantir, Lockheed leading the rally

  The iShares US Aerospace and Defence ETF is up 14% in 2026, accelerating sharply after the Iran strikes. Lockheed Martin is up nearly 15%. Palantir, which runs the US military's AI data stack, is the name analysts keep circling. The "AI defence trade" just moved from a niche bet to the consensus Q1 play on Wall Street.

  A March 2026 report shows AI agents — OpenClaw, Moltbook, BridgeWise — are handling finance, marketing, and supply chain tasks that used to require full hires.
