What’s Happening Today

1. The Great OpenAI Brain Drain: It's no longer a lab, it's a factory. The string of senior departures at OpenAI is starting to look less like a coincidence and more like a pattern. As the company shifts from exploration to execution, the researchers and builders who joined for the frontier work are finding themselves inside something that feels more like a scaled enterprise than a research lab. The culture that attracted them is changing — and some are choosing to leave rather than adapt to it.

2. Google DeepMind assembles a coding strike team. Google DeepMind has quietly put together a dedicated group focused specifically on AI-assisted software engineering — a direct response to the momentum Claude Code and OpenAI Codex have built with developers. The team is reportedly tasked with closing the gap fast, combining DeepMind's research depth with Google's infrastructure advantage to ship something competitive in the near term.

3. OpenAI Codex expands beyond coding. What started as a coding assistant is quietly becoming something broader. Codex now handles email management, calendar scheduling, file organisation, and web research — all from the same interface. OpenAI appears to be positioning it as the foundation of its superapp ambition: a single agent that lives inside your workflow rather than sitting alongside it.

Adobe has unveiled CX Enterprise at its Adobe Summit — a new agentic platform designed to help businesses run marketing, content production, and customer engagement through coordinated networks of AI agents, all under a single orchestration layer.

The details:

  • The platform is built around three pillars — brand visibility, content supply chain, and customer engagement — brought together under one agentic orchestration layer rather than managed as separate tools.

  • A new CX Enterprise Coworker agent reads a user's goal, assembles the right combination of agents and tools, builds a plan, and executes multi-step actions autonomously.

  • Adobe's Marketing Agent now connects directly to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot — coordinating across these external AI systems and Adobe's own apps simultaneously.

  • An agent skills catalog is also launching, letting enterprise teams build reusable, customisable workflows they can deploy repeatedly across the platform.

Why it matters: The design and marketing world is converging on agentic workflows fast — Figma, Canva, and Adobe are all fighting for the same orchestration layer. The bigger threat is the AI labs cutting out the middleman entirely. Every improvement to tools like Claude Design makes the legacy orchestration path harder to justify for teams who could just prompt their way to the same output.

The Biggest Names in Food Are Testing This New Tech

What do the world’s three biggest foodservice providers, the biggest food manufacturer, and some of the industry’s most beloved brands have in common?

They’re all partnering with Automated Retail Technologies (ART) to serve food without kitchens or delivery.

With ART’s Just Baked™ automated robotic kiosks, serving peoples’ favorite meals 24/7 is affordable and easy. That’s why the foodservice giants Aramark, Sodexo, Sysco, and Compass Group joined Nestlé and White Castle as ART partners.

And ART’s 800 units deployed currently only scratches the surface of their growth plans. They have 400 more units ready for immediate deployment, 340,000+ additional targeted locations, and a leadership team that knows exactly what it takes to scale. In other words, ART is perfectly positioned.
