Amazon commits $25B more to Anthropic — and Anthropic commits $100B back to AWS: Amazon has agreed to pour an additional $25B into Anthropic on top of the $8B already invested, as part of an expanded infrastructure deal. In return, Anthropic has committed to spending more than $100B on AWS over the next decade — including exclusive use of Amazon's Trainium chips for training and deploying Claude. The deal also secures up to 5 gigawatts of compute capacity. This is no longer a partnership — it is a decade-long architectural commitment between two companies betting their futures on each other.

2. Florida opens criminal investigation into OpenAI over ChatGPT's role in campus shooting: Florida's attorney general has launched a criminal investigation into OpenAI after reviewing chat logs between ChatGPT and a student accused of carrying out a deadly shooting at Florida State University. An AI hedge fund launches with $100M — and no human portfolio managers: Instacart co-founder Apoorva Mehta has launched Abundance, a hedge fund designed to be run entirely by AI agents from day one. The fund raised $100M in seed capital and is built on the premise that agentic AI can now outperform human judgment in financial markets consistently enough to remove the human layer entirely. If it works, it will not be the last fund built this way.
