Adobe faces a lawsuit over AI training using copyrighted books without consent.
A new class action lawsuit in the United States claims that Adobe used copyrighted books by writers to train its AI tools without permission. The case was filed last week in a federal court in California, according to Reuters.
The lawsuit says Adobe used books by Elizabeth Lyon and other writers without approval
These books were used to train Adobe’s SlimLM AI models, made for mobile devices
Adobe has not commented on the case, and the court has not set damages yet
This case shows growing legal pressure on tech companies using creative work to train AI. It may push courts to set clear rules on copyright, protect authors’ rights, and change how AI models are trained in the future.
