Google Drops $15B on India’s AI Future
Google to invest $15 billion in building AI data centers in India.
Google will build its largest AI hub outside the United States by investing $15 billion in new data centers in southern India. The project will span five years and aims to strengthen the country’s role in global AI infrastructure.
The plan was announced by Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, during an official event.
India’s Andhra Pradesh government says the project will include three major campuses in Visakhapatnam.
The investment will be made through Google’s Indian arm, Raiden Infotech, to boost local AI and cloud computing capacity.
This marks a big move for India in the global AI race, creating jobs, improving digital infrastructure, and showing Google’s long-term trust in India’s tech potential.
