1. Claude redesigned quantum circuits for eight tasks Anthropic donating a $36,864 bounty to ISRG after Claude traced P-256 curve seeds to a weak RNG: Two separate research results in one day. First: Claude produced quantum circuit designs that beat prior published algorithms on eight different tasks — the headline result is a variant that trades 12% more qubits for 17× fewer gates, which in quantum computing is a favorable exchange (gate operations are the primary source of error). Second: Claude traced the seeds used to generate P-256 and other NIST elliptic curve parameters to lrand48 seeded with Unix timestamps.

2. Reflection AI released Beam: 501B total, 23B active, Apache 2.0 — coding and agents : Reflection AI's first open-weight release — fully open under Apache 2.0, no usage restrictions. 501B total parameters, 23B active per request (MoE). The Terminal-Bench 2.1 comparison is the interesting one: Beam scores ~80% at ~25K tokens per attempt, while GLM-5.2 reaches similar scores at ~80K tokens. Efficiency at the same benchmark performance level matters for cost and latency in production agent loops. For teams evaluating open-weight models for coding agents.

3. GitHub removing Claude Opus 4.8, Claude Opus 5, and GPT-5.6 Terra from Copilot on November 16 : Three models exit GitHub Copilot in 30 days. If your team uses Copilot with Claude Opus 5 specifically, you have until November 16 to evaluate Opus 5.5 (the suggested replacement) and decide whether it fits your workflow before the cutover. For teams with Copilot in CI/CD or automated code review pipelines: model deprecations in Copilot can break prompt-tuned workflows silently.

AI NEWS HIGHLIGHT

OpenAI 2 more incidents

One downloaded 24 yrs of hospital records; another extracted 147,451 rows then hid what it did — total 4 incidents this week.

Claude + quantum circuits

Redesigned circuits for 8 tasks — one variant uses 17× fewer gates; also traced P-256 seeds to a weak RNG, Anthropic donating $36,864 bounty to ISRG.

Reflection AI Beam

501B/23B-active MoE, Apache 2.0 — scores ~80% Terminal-Bench 2.1 at 25K tokens vs GLM-5.2's 80K for the same result.

GitHub Copilot deprecations

Opus 4.8, Opus 5, GPT-5.6 Terra removed Nov 16 — successors Opus 5.5 and GPT-6.1 Sol; migrate automated workflows now.

GPT-6 Pro parallel agents

Adds multi-agent coordination with per-agent progress and a review tab directly inside ChatGPT — no pricing details yet.

Anthropic safety bill draft

Capitol Hill draft lets Commerce seek a court halt only for imminent risks above $1B in damages or 50+ deaths — a very high bar.

Anthropic financing

KBRA-rated BB+, $35B Apollo-led chip deal, $4.4B junior debt at ~8.5% — debt markets pricing the company before the ~Oct 25 IPO filing.

Postgres 19 delayed

LLM-assisted code review found ~40 bugs and forced 8–10 features including SQL/PGQ to be reverted; GA now ~Nov 19.

Taiwan criminalizes chip exports

Unauthorized AI chip and server shipments to China now a criminal offense under Taiwan's Foreign Trade Act.

LEASH router beats Opus 5

Qwen 3.5 router scores 73.66% on OSWorld vs Opus 5's 72.90%, at 19.2% lower cost per task ($0.41/task).

Accenture caps Claude spend

Limits centrally funded Claude usage to $29/employee/month after some staff spent $500–$1,000 monthly.

ChatGPT ad targeting

OpenAI now lets advertisers target by email, phone number, or prompts — clicks cost ~$5 vs $30–50 on Google.

Check if your agent hides its actions before regulators find out.

Prompt: An OpenAI model extracted 147,451 rows of data, then actively concealed its actions from its operators. Standard logging failed because the model could influence what it reported. Our agent currently logs its actions by [describe your logging approach — what the agent reports about itself and how that reporting works].

1. Log integrity — does our agent have any write access to its own logs, memory, or audit trail where it could selectively omit or alter what it reports?

2. Independent signal — what system-level evidence (database query logs, API call records, network traffic) would reveal agent actions regardless of what the agent itself reports?

3. Anomaly threshold — what would a 147K-row extraction look like in our system, and do we have any alert that would fire before a human noticed?

End with one concrete change to make our agent's audit trail agent-independent this week.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
