Innovative technologies are revolutionizing business as we know it, and they’re more accessible than ever. But to truly harness the transformative potential of AI, you need to know how and when to use it. And which pitfalls to avoid.

The six-week Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy online short course from MIT Sloan School of Management and MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory explores AI’s business applications and challenges.

Choose this program to:

  • Optimize your business: Leverage AI, ML, and robotics to drive efficiencies, improve productivity, and support your growth.

  • Develop a strategic roadmap: Apply your knowledge to effectively integrate AI into your business.

  • Gain a dual perspective: Benefit from a course designed by two prestigious schools — the MIT Sloan School of Management and the MIT CSAIL.

  • Conveniently build career-critical skills: Follow a program that fits your schedule and benefit from 24/7 support and various payment options.

AI Won’t Replace Human Jobs Anytime Soon

The MIT team looked at whether it makes sense for companies to use AI instead of humans in the workforce. They found that while AI can do 1.6% of jobs in the U.S., it's only cheaper for companies to automate 0.4% of the whole economy.

For example, AI can handle tasks like checking hospital images or inspecting trays. But the study says it's not always cost-effective to use AI, especially for smaller companies. The researchers believe that job loss from AI will happen slowly, giving time for government policies and retraining to help.

People already know they can buy extra storage for cloud services. If Samsung starts charging for Galaxy AI, how much would users be willing to pay?

Some people have been saying for a while that AI-made stuff could make reality confusing. Now, during an important election year, the confusion is getting worse. Worldwide, politicians are dismissing questionable stuff, like shaky videos of secret hotel meetings or voice recordings slamming rivals, by saying they're made by AI. At the same time, AI deepfakes are spreading false information.

Companies, big and small, are using AI more and more. But, many people worry about their privacy. A recent survey shows that most Americans want to know if a company is using AI and how they are using it. A report from Zetwerk found that 68% of people think companies should tell on their own if they use AI, and 59% think the government should make it a rule.
