📝 Claude just moved into Microsoft Word

Anthropic has built a Word add-in that puts Claude directly inside Microsoft Word — so instead of switching between tools, users can draft, rewrite, and clean up documents without ever leaving the editor.

The details:

• Once install Claude for Word, and connected to a Team or Enterprise account, a Claude sidebar opens inside Word — no separate tab, no copy-pasting, no context switching.

• Select a specific paragraph to work on just that section, or leave everything unselected and Claude reads the whole document at once.

• Type what you want in plain language — sharpen this, make it shorter, fix the tone — and the output lands right where you need it.

• You can keep refining through follow-up prompts in the same sidebar until the document reads exactly the way you want it.

Why it matters: Word is still where most serious documents get written — contracts, proposals, reports. The copy-paste loop between Word and an AI chat window is the main thing slowing that work down. Putting Claude inside the editor eliminates that entirely, and for anyone producing high-stakes documents at volume, that is a meaningful shift in how the work actually gets done.
