New AI Chips Outruns Nvidia H200

Positron AI claims its new Atlas AI accelerator beats Nvidia’s H200 in inference speed while using 33% less power. The chip is designed specifically for efficient AI inference, not general GPU tasks.

• Atlas system (8 Archer accelerators) reportedly delivers ~280 tokens/sec at 2000W, versus H200’s ~180 tokens/sec at 5900W.

• Claims 3× better performance-per-watt and cost efficiency compared to Nvidia’s DGX H200.

• Built on TSMC’s N4/N5 process, with assembly mostly in the U.S., but advanced packaging partly done in Taiwan.

Why this matters: If these claims hold true, Atlas could disrupt the AI hardware market by offering faster inference at far lower power and cost than Nvidia’s top solutions, potentially a big shift for data centers running large AI models.
