OpenAI Signs Shocking Deal
OpenAI Signs $200 Million Defense Deal with U.S. Department of Defense
OpenAI has signed a one-year, $200 million contract with the U.S. Department of Defense to develop AI tools for national security and military use. This marks OpenAI’s first official defense partnership, with most work centered in the Washington, D.C. area.
The deal focuses on advanced AI prototypes to help with military and security challenges.
OpenAI also launched an "OpenAI for Government" project to handle all its work with public agencies.
This move comes after a previous AI collaboration with defense startup Anduril in late 2024.
This deal shows OpenAI’s growing interest in the defense sector and highlights how AI is becoming a key part of national security. It also puts OpenAI in direct competition with companies like Anthropic and Palantir, which are already working with U.S. defense and intelligence agencies.

Microsoft Asked to Clarify Copilot AI Claims by U.S. Watchdog
The U.S. National Advertising Division (NAD) has advised Microsoft to stop or revise some of its advertising claims about Microsoft 365 Copilot, especially those suggesting it boosts productivity. The agency said Microsoft must be more transparent about the tool’s limits, particularly in the Business Chat feature.
NAD says Microsoft’s claims about productivity gains are based only on users' personal feelings, not hard evidence
Microsoft is asked to clearly explain the limitations of Copilot to avoid misleading users
The Copilot branding has changed several times, adding to the confusion
This issue matters because AI tools like Copilot are becoming a big part of how people work. If companies make bold claims without enough proof, it can mislead customers and set false expectations. NAD’s move pushes for more honest marketing in the growing AI space.
