Leaked Sora Videos Shock OpenAI

OpenAI first unveiled its AI text-to-video model, Sora, last winter. Recently, the company allowed a select group of users to test the model on a limited basis. However, it seems some of these testers, in an act of protest, leaked access to the model.

Testers Expose Access to Sora AI Video Model

A group of testers claimed they revealed access to Sora by publishing a project on the Hugging Face platform.

This project, allegedly linked to the Sora model's API, used authentication tokens they likely received during the testing phase. Through this, users were able to generate videos using the AI model.

Shortly after its release, the project was disabled. However, some users on the social platform X said they managed to use it and noted that the model's output bore the signature qualities of OpenAI's work.

The group behind the leak claims that OpenAI revoked access to Sora for all testers within three hours of the breach.

Why Was Access Leaked?

The group claims that OpenAI pressured early testers to promote a positive narrative about Sora without offering any compensation for their efforts. In their statement, they wrote:

"Hundreds of artists worked unpaid to test bugs, provide feedback, and carry out experimental work for a $150 billion company. This early access program seemed less about fostering creative and critical expression and more about PR and marketing."

The whistleblowers also allege that OpenAI misled the public about Sora’s capabilities, keeping access restricted to conceal the full truth.

They claim that all video outputs must be pre-approved by OpenAI and that the company only reviews results from a small group of testers.

NVIDIA’s Fugatto: AI for Audio

NVIDIA has unveiled a new AI model in the name of Fugatto, capable of converting a text command into audio or editing an existing audio file as per user inputs.

• Fugatto: This would be the model for generation and editing of multilingual and multi-accent audios, with the nickname from "Foundational Generative Audio Transformer Opus 1."

• Applications: Useful for musicians, content creators, game developers; not openly available yet.

• Competitors: There are similar models available from Meta and Google, the latter of which offers Google's MusicLM via AI Test Kitchen.

NVIDIA continues to cement its lead in AI, not only in hardware but also in state-of-the-art AI tools. Fugatto could change the game in how creators interact with audio, making complex tasks much quicker and more accessible.
