OpenAI’s new video app Sora hits over one million downloads in just a few days.

The AI video generator Sora, launched by OpenAI, reached more than 1 million downloads in under 5 days, even though it was invite-only. The app has quickly become one of the top iOS downloads in the US and Canada.

  • Sora lets users make and share AI videos, view others’ creations, and even use a feature called Cameos to place real faces into videos.

  • Despite the buzz, much of Sora’s early content includes memes, deepfakes, and low-quality AI videos.
