Alibaba’s AI team has introduced a new open-source tool called Qwen-Image Edit.
It can make advanced image edits with just simple text commands, a task that once required professional software like Photoshop.
Dual Encoding architecture lets the model understand both the overall scene and fine visual details.
Supports two types of edits: semantic changes (style, theme) and fine local edits (small details).
Can edit Chinese and English text inside images, keeping fonts and styles intact.
This release makes powerful image editing accessible to everyone, not just professionals with expensive tools. Because it’s open-source and free under Apache 2.0, developers and companies can use it on their own hardware, cutting costs.

Nvidia Secret Chip for China
Nvidia is developing a new AI chip for China.
It said to be more powerful than its H20 model, despite ongoing U.S. restrictions and regulatory concerns.
Nvidia is working on a chip based on the new Blackwell architecture, temporarily named B30A, which is stronger than the H20.
The chip will use a single-die design with HBM memory and NVLink for faster data transfer.
Nvidia plans to deliver test samples to Chinese customers as early as next month.
This move shows Nvidia’s push to stay in the Chinese market despite U.S. export limits and political pressure. It also highlights the growing tension between tech innovation and international regulations, as access to advanced AI chips is now seen as a matter of global competition and security.
