• Available first for Premium users (Google AI Ultra & Pro subscribers) in select regions, rolling out on web and mobile.

• Users can add custom prompts for motion, dialogue, and sound effects, with output in 720p MP4 format (16:9 aspect ratio).

This update expands creative possibilities for Gemini users, eliminating the need for separate AI video tools. It also highlights Google’s push into AI-powered multimedia generation, competing with platforms like OpenAI’s Sora. However, all videos include visible and invisible watermarks (SynthID) to label AI content, a step toward transparency amid rising deepfake concerns.

• Blankevoort, who worked on Meta’s LLaMA models, claimed most employees feel demotivated and unclear about the division’s mission.

• He blamed a "culture of fear" fueled by frequent performance reviews and layoffs, which he said stifle creativity in the 2,000-person AI unit.
