Say Hello to the AI Operating Systems

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, shared a bold new vision:
The company is working on a shared AI operating system based on ChatGPT. This new platform aims to become the central part of people’s digital lives, going far beyond just a chatbot.
At the AI Ascent 2025 event, Altman said OpenAI will shift from just a chatbot to a paid AI platform, offering an experience similar to an operating system.
The plan includes smart interfaces for future devices and platforms, allowing AI to work like a real OS.
OpenAI is still testing and building the system, but the goal is a model that understands everything in a user’s life, from emails and chats to books and videos.
This shows that OpenAI wants to make AI a key part of everyday life, not just a tool. If successful, this system could change how we use technology, making AI the main way we interact with devices and the digital world.

U.S. Lifts Extra Export Limits on Nvidia AI Chips After Pressure from Trump and Nvidia CEO
The U.S. Department of Commerce has canceled the Artificial Intelligence Diffusion Rule, which was set to restrict American AI chip exports starting tomorrow.
This rule, made under former President Joe Biden, aimed to limit AI chip exports to countries like China and Russia but also hurt Nvidia’s global business.
The decision came after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang traveled to Saudi Arabia with Donald Trump, pushing for international AI investment and chip exports.
The lifted restrictions are a major win for Nvidia, which controls over 90% of the AI chip market. It also shows how U.S. policy on tech exports can shift based on political and business pressure. However, the U.S. still warns against using Huawei’s Ascend AI chips, calling it a violation of export laws.
